Tortuguero is a land of turtles. We are one of the main sea turtle nesting beaches in the world. This is a very special and unique activity offered by Tortuguero National Park. It is an activity that is carried out with experts, accredited guides, and trackers, a natural spectacle that makes us one of the most visited places in Costa Rica.
More than a tour, it is a life experience that will remain engraved in your memory. So, if you have the opportunity, it is something you cannot miss on your visit to Tortuguero between the months of July to October. At the Tortuguero Beachfront Hotel, we are waiting to accompany you on this unique adventure.
About the Tour
The tour begins in the lobby of the Tortuguero Beachfront hotel, after a warm welcome we will register and one of our hosts will share small talk about the activity and organize the groups (there will be no more than 10 people per group, each group will be assigned a guide).
Later, we will mobilize between the different sectors that are along the beach; Depending on the sector assigned to us, they will indicate whether or not we transport by boat, this is because there are some very remote sectors that require the use of this transport.
Once located in the respective sector (base), the guide will provide information about the life cycle of sea turtles, as well as some interesting information about this impressive reptile. The base is the place where we will wait for the right moment to enter the beach.
The turtle tracker will indicate the exact point where the turtle is located. Once at the site, our primary goal is to closely view at least one of the four spawning processes allowed. And why not? Hopefully, we can see all four processes.
Once we finish our encounter with the turtle, we will proceed to withdraw from the beach, and after sharing their opinions about the experience, we will take the way back to the starting point of the tour at the Tortuguero Beachfront Hotel to finally say goodbye.

What should I bring?
It is required to wear dark colored clothing (black, dark green, dark gray, etc.), closed shoes, mosquito repellent and a raincoat.
Tour price: $ 35.00 per person. We have special prices for small groups and families.
Some important information
It is very important that no technology of any kind is allowed during this activity (no cameras, no cell phones, etc.). This will be a moment that you will remember, and will not affect the natural flow of the process or the turtles.
The sector and the route schedules are exclusively assigned by the National Park; Neither we nor our clients can choose the time or the sector. The park will give us permission around 5:00 pm, and it is done through a lottery or raffle. That is why we require your presence in our lobby at 5:45 pm, to record the activity and give you the schedule for the tour.

Very early in the morning, the expedition begins in canoes through the spectacular wetlands of Tortuguero National Park. This is an activity that you cannot miss if you visit us.
On this tour, you will put aside your worries, relax and enjoy the immensity of the very humid tropical forest of Costa Rica.
The tour begins in the lobby of the Tortuguero Beachfront hotel. After a warm welcome, you will proceed to register with one of our hosts while enjoying a coffee and a snack.
Before leaving, you will receive a general explanation of the activity. Then we will go to the pier of the national park to board the canoe and start the tour.
During the tour, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Tortuguero wetland. In addition, we will have the opportunity to observe the representative fauna of the area such as alligators, many birds, basilisks, monkeys, sloths, among other species. The biodiversity in this type of forest is very abundant, however, we know that the animals are in their natural habitat and we totally depend on what nature allows us to appreciate. The guide will take a tour of the channels, sharing information, and showing the secrets hidden in it.
Once the tour is finished, we will disembark at the same starting point, listen to your opinions on the activity, and conclude the tour.

Tour schedule: from 06:00, 08:30 and 14:30.

What should I bring?
It is recommended to bring sunscreen, hat, comfortable clothes (shirt, shorts), sandals or water shoes, camera and something to cover your belongings in case of rain.
Tour price: $ 45.00 per person (includes entrance to Tortuguero National Park). We have special prices for small groups and families.
Some important information
Canoes are small boats. Maximum 8 people per canoe (typical canoe with oars). It is worth mentioning that it is not necessary to row you can do it if you want, otherwise do not worry the guide will do it.
We offer 3 different times to do the tour, however, we recommend doing the first one at 06:00 hours, since at this moment the animals are more active and the temperature is the best.
If you bring your camera, don't forget to bring something to protect it from the water, as the weather conditions are quite unpredictable and it can rain at any time.

A guide with experience in night walks will take you to live two hours of mystery and suspense with what we can find on this night tour.
Our tour begins in the hotel lobby. After a cordial welcome they register, and we begin the adventure. Following the guide's instructions, we will begin to discover the forest's nightlife. There are 2.5 kilometers of route.
During the tour and if nature allows, we will have the opportunity to go in search of the colorful red-eyed frog, armadillos, bats, snakes, insects and everything that nature allows us to show. At each stop, the guide will share with you all his knowledge, as well as some curious information. In addition, you can take photographs of some of the species found (always without using a flash and respecting the distance indicated by the guide) so as not to alter their natural habitat.
At the end of the tour, the guide will take you to the hotel, say goodbye and end the activity.

What should I bring?
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes (preferably long pants), mosquito repellent, camera (without flash), closed shoes or rubber boots and a raincoat.
Tour price: $ 30.00 per person. We have special prices for small groups and families.
Some important information
It is recommended to have dinner or a snack before the tour since the activity will end at 9:00 pm and at that time most of the restaurants and supermarkets will be closed.
It is very important to bring enough repellent since mosquitoes are more active at night.
You can carry a small backpack with a raincoat, water, and something to protect your belongings in case of rain.

To complete your experience on the canals, it is best to take a guided walk along the "El Gavilán" trail.
We will start in the hotel lobby, where after a cordial greeting we will go to register with our host. The guide will give you a little information about the tour and then walk to the national park office. We will register and start the walk along the path that bears his name in honor of a common bird from the "El Gavilán" area.
There are approximately 2 kilometers of tropical forest, with a lot of interesting vegetation to discover. The guide will share with you all his knowledge about the different species found during the tour.
We will take the path back along the beach, which is very particular for its strong waves. Finally, and if you wish, you can stay on the beach enjoying the last rays of the sun or return with the guide to the hotel where it will be our point to end the activity.

Some important information
We will coordinate the tour schedule according to the activities you do. If the weather conditions are rainy, it will require the use of rubber boots as the road becomes muddy (you can rent for $ 2).
It is important to bring something to protect your belongings from the rain, as it can rain at any time and in any season of the year.
The entrance to the national park is valid throughout the day. Therefore, if you have performed the channel activity in the morning, you do not need to pay for another ticket. But if you have not done any activity before the walk, you must pay the entrance, which has an additional cost of $ 15 per person (for foreigners) and ¢ 1,000 for nationals.

For this activity we have 2 options:

The first is the full day of fishing starting early at 5:30 am and returning in the afternoon at 4:00 pm fishing gear and drinks are included, the price of this is $ 500.

The second option is half a day of fishing, leaving equally, at 5:30 and returning around 11:00 am, it also includes fishing equipment and drinks and the price is $ 250.
